P.S.If you don't now , T-64 was made in Kharkiv Machine Building Design Bureau of Morozov
Few pics of the Polish produced T-55AMS (modified soviet T-55A).
Pics are from my trip to the Polish Military Museum in Warsaw - http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...ad.php?t=95226
The T-55AMS tank is a variant of the Polish-produced T-55AM tank, which in turn was a modified version of the Soviet T-55A tank that was produced in Poland under a license agreement.
The T-55AMS tank was introduced to service with the Army of the Peoples Republic of Poland in the latter 1980s. As the preceding T-55AM tank, the T-55AMS has been provided with MERIDA fire control system (incorporating a laser range finder and digital ballistic computer), DOBRAVA warning laser detection system and ERB smoke grenade launchers. The T-55AMS has been added with provisions for attaching engineering equipment: the KMT-5 mine-clearing device or the USCz-55 dozer blade.
This modernised version has almost the same level of protection as the T-80U! It is equipped with "Kaktus-5" ERA and has a modified T-72B turret with 125mm gun 2A46M and automatic loader. There are two FCS options: 1A40-1 with ATGM system 9K120 "Svir" (as T-72B) or 1A42 with 9K119 "Refleks" (as T-80U). The suspension has 2x6 road-wheels now and the tank is powered by a 690 hp diesel engine V-46-5M. Crew: 3. Combat weight: 43 tonnes.
But I like T-64 most of all, even compared to modern tanks

Serbian T55h, highly modernized version with new fire control system and explosive reactive armor.
Slovenians also made an great upgrade for their old t55 tanks. I think their designation is M55s1.
However, all Serbian and Slovenian versions of T55 are going to be scrapped in next few years, so all money spent on T55 research and upgrade is just thrown away...

I like the Slovenian T55 upgrade mostly.
It sure does, not much of resemblence to the orriginal T-55. Only the advantages over the Leo-1 would probablly be speed and armour protection.
