You want a tank on wheels? Then you need this.....

Called the Bismark, a prototype vehicle produced in South Africa during the late 1980's. Weighing over 40 tons, the turret was taken from the olifant Mk1b MBT which weighed in at 58 tons. More pictures can be found in the South African military thread.

The Only info I know is from http://saairforce.co.za/forum
There is a topic on various indigenous projects.

Bismarck was built by Sandock Austral in 82-83. It had a crew of 4 and weighed 41 tons. It was armed with a 105mm L7 gun, 2 7.62mm mgs and 8 81mm smoke launchers. It had a MTH (German engine) - V6 - 6396 turbo charged liquid cooled diesel producing 588kw at 2400 rpm. It had a ZF (also German but locally produced by gear ratio) 4PF2000 automatic transmission with 4 forward and one reverse gear. It had hydro pneumatic suspension and had a road speed of 86km/h and a range of 1000km.

Both prototypes were shelved in favour of Cheetah mk 2 the prototype of which stand in front of big willy hall at the school of armor in Bloemfontein.
There are various pics of it in this thread...

It is about the South African Defence Force, who were leading exponents of rapid wheeled fighting vehicles over long distances. It is a long thread, but very worthwhile if you are interested in this topic. It has a wealth of pictures, including vehicles leading up to the Rooikat, as well as the prototype.

I have some more pics of the Bismarck, taken by others. The prototype resides at the Armour Museum in Bloemfontein.
