It's in finnish, but there are four pics that I think are interesting. Communications update is coming for an individual fighter and the training should start 2013 for conscripts. IMO looks too high tec, what will you do when the batteries run out?

Another thing is how many troops actually are going to be equipped like that. If i remember correctly they talked that one member in each patrol would have that, which would be 1/3.

Just wondering, is this M/05 gas mask? http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2487791872/tt2121954 (from TV-series House)

Ps. That electronics unit looks just ridiculous. I can not see how it would benefit regular troops who are already overladen with equipment. I would like to see that money put to modernizing other equipment such as troop transport (more XA-360s) and squad weaponry. The army needs more modern anti-tank equipment and automatic weapons since we got rid of land mines.

Well, it's either the M/95 or the M/05 http://www.suojelukilta.net/m05_suojanaamari.doc. We had the M/05 in PorPR (II/09)

1/3 of the first line inf batallions would be more correct. That would mean few thousand units, not more. Large majority of the army will still have only to old ****.

^ Its is great improvement to the old though, where only some readiness brigades had them. They were talking about one of three soldiers in patrol in infantry of regional units in the article about reforms.

Large majority dont really need that stuff.

Btw what the heck are those "local troops" they are talking about here and in the news? Are they going to form some kind of homeguard?

Local troops would be some new troops and country troops would be part of them. Found this article:

I'm a bit confused by the "local troops" allso. But if I understand correctly, they are normal reservists wich will wear down the enemy, in other words local defence just like before and then the fairly high readiness active "country troops", just like before, part of the local troops, there are just fancy new names around.

BTW. I'm allso on that video keparti posted....
