Never seen that before. My guess is that it's some sort of target designator that gives bearing/elevation data to some other system, maybe an onboard gun.

    A few questions for DolUmBerIst:

-Why did you drop out/were kicked out?

-Where did you serve and in what unit?

-Did you go to NCO- or RCO-school?

Ps. Stop playing Diablo 2 already!

Well, I started my service regardless of the fact that I still had E-papers due to some health problems. During the first health check we had it came to light that I couldn't stay.

I served in Kainuun Prikaati/KuoP/HK, for a whole nine days. So, no I didn't go to NCO- or RCO-school but that was my aim.

And I'm not playing Diablo 2 anymore! Though it shall always have a special place in my heart.

Will you be able to fix these health problems and go back into service? Or are you penalized for going into service with those problems? I atleast think you should be able to go back in.

One should be able to go again once your medical issues are cleared.

Good, that's how I thought it went.

On that note, what medical issues would the Finnish Army reject you for? Sorry I can't read much Finnish, so I can't use the FDF site.

I think back and leg problems are the most common ones.

    Where are you from?

My mom is Finnish, and I've visited Finland ~3 times now, but my dad is American and I live just north of NYC. I have Finnish citizenship, and I can understand a few Finnish words (mostly army stuff) and I plan to move there when I'm older. I liked it much better than here the few times I was there.

Also, that leg thing may happen to me, my dad got turned down in 1968 from the draft because of a leg problem.

Hi there fellas, after a year or so of stalking mp.net, I thought it would be a good time to register. Unfortunately I don't yet have much pics to contribute, but armed with a decent camera next week, I'm hoping to capture some of my refresher training experiences in Portti 08 -exercise, starting next Monday, June 10th. Be sure to check the link below (finnish only)

About myself: Served in Jääkäriprikaati/Jaeger Brigade, Sodankylä, between Jan 06 and Jan 07 as a recon FO. Hi to all who possibly recognize me

Portti 08 (June 10th-16th) is a joint-exercise of northern Finlands garrisons, consisting of roughly 4000 men and 700 vehicles. The exercise will be held in Kainuu-North Karelia area (Valtimo-Sotkamo road). Majority of the personnel are conscripts and staff, but ca. 200 lucky reservists, including me, get to answer to the call of duty .

My heart stopped twice during that parade. First when I saw the CV90 column and then also when the MLRS rolled by with our camo.

YLE ****ed the filming angles, again. I also wanted to slap the commentator with the baret.

And no 122 PsH 74s, MT-LBUs or ZIL-131s. Can't admit to the nation that this is supposed to be our mechanized arty. Bonus points for BMP-2s.

    Welcome aboard!
Yeah, our CO said that to us too.

"The battery will not be ready to receive fire commands until the coffee is dropping."
