Hope this answers the other thread about AUSCAM in Afghanistan. Just look at the vegetation.
btw - It's good to see the LT sharing the load and carrying a 66 himself.
I hope this isn't a repost. I looked back a week and didn't see anything similar about it.
Platoon contact with Taliban for Reconstruction Task Force
Australian soldiers with the Reconstruction Task Force (RTF) in Afghanistan were involved in a series of attacks with Taliban extremists in late August. No Australian soldiers were wounded in any of these incidents, but the Taliban was known to have suffered casualties.
The soldiers protect the RTF worksite by patrolling throughout the area and maintaining a constant presence.
Australia has deployed a Reconstruction Task Force (RTF), consisting of a combined arms team, to the Oruzgan Province in southern Afghanistan as part of Operation Slipper. The RTF is in partnership with the Netherlands Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) and forms part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.
The RTF has a clearly defined role to work on reconstruction, improvement of provincial infrastructure and community based projects.
The RTF also provides trade training to the local population and military engineering training to the Afghan National Army.
This type of assistance is designed to benefit the people of Oruzgan Province well into the future and form building blocks of a stable and prosperous community.
The RTF contains around 370 ADF personnel from predominately Queensland-based units.
It includes elements to provide command, security, engineering, and administrative support and is equipped with Bushmaster Infantry Mobility Vehicles (IMV), Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAVs) and armoured engineer plant equipment.
Australia's contribution to ISAF is an important component of the Australian Government's commitment to assist Afghanistan achieve a stable and secure future.

Yeah I thought it might. The footage is great, about time they released some.
Good Footage. Haven't seen anything this good since Promstar's videos were taken off youtube.
What were Promstar's videos? Were they videos of Aussie troops in action?
Yeah, Promstar was a soldier serving in the Australian Cavalry that was deployed in Iraq. He posted a lot of cool videos of his time in Iraq and other from his friends in the ADF. But he took it too far with one of his videos which showed a mock execution of an Arab and the Australian Media jumped all over it. He was discharge from the army and all his videos were taken off Youtube.
You can read about the story here http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,20429132-661,00.html

Good to see the boys getting to do their job. However some of their basic skills were worrying.
Nice to see DoD looking out for the wellbeing of our sensative ears.
