No 1. Germany didn't support the war and did not contribute any personel (as far as I'm aware of)

No 2(hehe!). GSG9 only operate within Germany, and not abroad. I've heard that they maybe at Germany Embassys, as they r German soil.

I may be wrong, feel free to correct me, just don't insult me.

Eagle is right. GSG9 is more like the biggest baddest SWAT team in Germany than Spec. Ops.

now...the KSK *IS* pretty damn high-speed. THere ARE pictures of them in Afaghanistan.

The word Grenzschutzgruppe (GSG) means Group of border control and I am not sure as to them operating outside of Germany but if you read the translation it seems like they do not.

GSG9 is a Federal Spec-Ops team but they were involved in the Mogadishu hijacking situation, so they can operate outside of the country if they need to.

The GSG9 is in Germany and outside. The GSG9 was in Afghanistan and Iraq to to protect German minister.

The KSK didn't exist in 1977, so "who u gonna call?" "Ghostbust... I mean, GSG9!!!"

Not sure about GSG9 in Afghanistan. They might had been at the German Embassy where the German Minister was staying, thus German soil.

The KSK were posted in Kuwait prior to the war. moreso to act as a Protection force for German Citizens. As they spent some time training with Allied troops there.
