Have anyone pics of "Jagerregiment 1"? I am specialy interest in the emblem![]()
Well, that's the problemI saw that one
I am searching for, well, how to say, version in use on the battlefield. I heard, that the symbols are black on the flecktarn background
In the German army it's not so common to wear your regimental batch on your battlefield uniform. Most soldiers only have the German flag and no unit insignia. Maybe a few single soldiers do it, but it's not "normal".
So, on the uniform should be only:
-name tag
-Flag
-litze (or something like that, I dont know how to spell it)
?
And that all?
+ rank
But that's it, indeed. That's the basic uniform worn in the field.
Some soldiers wear additional stuff, that can be unit insignia, either on the shoulder as a badge or as a metal emblem on the breast, or additional badges which they earned during their service, for example paratrooper badge, sports badge or "lone warrior"-course badge (don't know the correct English term). But most soldiers wear this only during daily service in the camps, not during field service. And as they don't wear it in the fields, the badges do not have any special color, as camouflage is not important in the camp.
To be precise - it's up to the unit commander (company or maybe battalion level) to order unit patch wear on the field dress or not.
In my company we were ordered to wear the unit patch on field dresses and tank jumpsuits and we were only supplied with the subdued version for field use:
Normal colors would be red/white instead of black/green.
(FYI: That's the patch of 4th Company, Armor Battalion 383. Battalion dissolved in 2007, formerly stationed at Kyffhaeuser Barracks, Bad Frankenhausen, Thuringia. I was there 07/1998-05/1999.)
Great! Thanks you guysSo, as usual, "Commander orders, private must do it"
Thanks God I am the commander of the reconstruction group![]()
