I have a question for you, is there a CREE LED that I can use in my standard luxeon Streamlight Scorpions?

I'd like to do something simliar to them that you have done to your G2.

I've searched around and not had much luck.

Default Flashlights - what do you use?

In the last years the flashlight-market has changed very much, LEDs are super bright and other types, such as HID Lights are even brighter.

Which "tactical" flashlight do you have in use or are planning to purchase?

Personally i am waiting for the Surefire UB2 Invictus. At the moment my workhorse is the First Light Liberator GP, which is a pretty nice Tool (although i still lack a bit of training with it). Previously i used the NightOps Gladius from Blackhawk, but i wasn´t satisfied with the handling.

So come on and show us your goodies

I keep one of these in a drawer in the kitchen - there's nothing hi-speed about me.

MagLite D Cell with an LED instead of the incandescent bulb. Cheap (compared to Surefire,Streamlight etc) and it does the trick.

    Nice knife btw.

Why spend so much money on UB2 when you can buy a non LED SF C2 and get what I think is the brightest LED drop in upgrade there is to date, called the Malkoff M60. You get 235 lumens at 350 feet of illumination.

I use Fenix flashlights for various jobs: on my uniform belt at work, as bike lights and for use off duty. I have found them to be relatively inexpensive, effective and reliable.

The one thing (besides the 400 Lumens of bright light) i like about the UB2 is the handling. It uses the new "maxblast" tailcap. So if you are in a high stress situation, you dont have to do some finger tricks (Gladius), you just have to push the tailcap all the way down for maximum output. if you push the tailcap with "normal" pressure, the flashlight is set to a certain mode, which you can choose before. So if its really like that - A+ for stress stability

'Code 4' US pilots light in the smock, like an AA maglite but you can turn it from white to red quickly and easily. Couldn't find a pic, only http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/....php?p=2737691

Petzl Tactikka XP in the daysack, a pricey light but handy for things you need your hands free for, like writing orders or sorting kit when non-tac; its also good day-to-day if you go running and its dark/dusk, as it always is in winter in GB!

Have one of those tiny LED lights on my keys (clipped to beltloop) so thats with me day-to-day, just leave it on if you're walking home from the pub or wherever in the dark, that way cars are more likely to see you than run you down.

No need for a Surefire or anything that you strap to a rifle really. If its FIBUA I just put the Petzl over my helmet so's I can see what I'm doing, or you can tape a torch to the rifle. If guys go on tour they get issued Laser Light Modules for their gats anyway, which are all very gucci apparently.
