Nothing quite beats venison back steaks or the heart in the great outdoors. A quick fry up of the heart lightly dusted with flour with a bit of bacon, onions and pepper - YUM. Eaten with a hunk of bread dunked in the gravy and sweet, strong black coffee brewed in a billy can. Followed up with a yarn or two by the fire with a something warming and you'll wonder why life cant be that good all the time.

    Caught 2 *****ers (Rockfish) yesterday - 1 - 6 lb; the other 7-lb.

Rockfish tournament winner: 15.8 lbs (32") = $5,000 first place. Yay for him.

I want everyone to go back and read beatles101's posts. Pithy, inciteful, and hilarious in an Animal House "You guys playin cards?" kinda way.

Were you able to keep it?

I have absolutely zero experience with deep sea fishing. Almost all of mine is flyfishing for salmon and trout a la "A River Runs Through It".

Didn't see any deer but my buddy got a Mallard from his tree stand. Pretty lucky shot.

    James

Just out of interest did you use factory or hand loads in the 270 and what pills did you use (i.e. Barnes X, HP, JHP, PSP etc).

    Cheers
