Allready with the first un contigents to Lebanon the Norwegian soldiers experiensed that the idf had some thought through and practical solutions. The israeli ephod rigs could carry more ammunition, gear and stabilise the weight better then the old rigs from ww2 the norwegians used.
The duffle bags and the rifle slings were adopted by many of the soldiers.

Shame that Fridtjof Nansen class has no CIWS. Plus cripled version of Aegis with all drawbacks which it means. Plus dubious quality of spanish "craftsmanship". Pity.

Ciws and long range anti air missiles will be installed when the ships go operational in 2010.

    Great photos from Oslo.

I have no photos to share... just a heads-up if anyone is interested in the military and political discussion for new Nordic coop... on Tuesday there's live conference on TV (broadcasted on the net too).

    Default Archer at Setermoen

A taste of the future perhaps.

This is definitely a piece for us and I believe it will happen. Everyone seems to agree on Archer as the choice. - Ivar Omsted, battalion chief

What? We're replacing the M109s with Archer?
