Hey Shocker, whats the drag coeffecient on both a 98 Mustang and a newer GTO? As far as sustained high speed (100+), I'm guessing the GTO to be a better platform, no?

I really don't see what was so amazing about what the guy did besides use some really fancy wax and unorthodox methods.

Hell I'll do all of that clay-baring/swirl+scratch/intensive polish/glaze and wax the car with an 80$ wax without any of that fancy ultrasonic bull**** to see how much paint there is for around 150$...someone who pays 5 grand to have their vehicle detailed must be able to see 5 grand as pocket change, because it's not long until the vehicle gets dirty again..(unless of course they never drive it, which is probably the case for the expensive euro car in the vid)

Hell I don't know. What do I look like a mechanical engineer or something? I can tell that the sampling rate of the fuel trim is 500ms on a OBDII Ford system. The O2 sampling rate of the mixture block control set of an OBDIV GM is 500us. Therefore the newer GM manages fuel more efficiently and more accurately reads Barometric pressure changes and engine load also. FOMOCO sensors suck too. In short the OBDII Ford PCM is slower than a new GM system.

I do agree with you however that the GTO looks like it would slice air better.

You should get some used car lot accounts. My friend turns nearly $4000 a week detailing cars for one used car company. He has one employee, damn good money and all that free stuff in the repos as well.

I understand, I am 6'4 but I think an accord is comfy and a civic amazingly enough lets me drive without my knee sticking out the window. Another inch and the Civic would be too tight but the Accord is right on. Plenty of leg room but there is a slight head room issue. Guess that is why I like my big truck.

finally someone else that understands its not just about leg room but about head room. I had a c280 out for a test drive a few weeks ago and loved the car, but the leg room was somewhat lacking, my knees were hitting the bottom of the dash. I have no idea about SAAB's but my financial advisor says they are awesome for leg and head room and very reliable. Sometime in the new year I'm going to be taking out another benz for a week and might try and grab a saab for a day or something.

I would have to agree that Saabs are tall guy friendly. I have driven just about everything made except for some rare cars.

    Hahaha, you're right.

Yea, it's gonna need to sustain a fairly long time seeing 90-100+ speeds. I'm not at liberty to discuss my plans, but if all goes according to plan, I'm NOT buying that 98 Cobra but instead will buy a GTO.

Any place you think I could find drag coeffcients and other stuff of that nature?

While I hate leaving my Pony heritage, I'm gonna have to with this plan. It won't stay NA for long, and I have a laundry list of mods for it already. While going fast will be a point, being able to sustain that speed is what I'm really shooting for.
