Cool ride and the 327 is one hell of an engine. I had a 67 Camaro with a 327ci 375HP. I do recommend putting some weight in the bed, El Caminos can get loose easy. Very nice car in those pics, I'd like to have it myself. Is it an automatic or manual?

Automatic. So if you ever have trouble with it it`s a nightmare to find parts and service stations. The price is exremely low ca. 1000$, so I guess there is something wrong with it. I`ll contact the guy after easter.

I get about 3000$ for my old Golf, so I tought about something exotic, and I always had a taste for older cars.

Parts will be easy to find. Parts on GMs those years are interchangeable for the most part. The brakes and suspension are the same as a Chevelle, Monte Carlo and the engine parts are applicable to a wide range of GM products on various years. Parts are cheap for these years too. Some various interior and body parts will be hard to find new but if you do buy you have plenty of help here in case you need it. Not sure how your local parts stores will fare with the parts but the internet is full of sources specifically for Classic GM's

Yeah, find out what is wrong with it and I can tell you the cost and if the car is worth it. Judging from the photos though, that El Camino could sell for $4000 or more in the States.

I think the car is in the states. Look at the licence plate. Maybe he earns more with shipping than with the car itself.

I altso looked into a Lada Niva for my offroad needs

    Default Electric window problems

Hey gents. I now have a 1998 Olds 88 (bought it a couple months ago with 45,000 miles on it. Been garaged and in imaculate condtion) and slowly want to pimp it out. But, I want to tint the windows and the rear windows do not work (electric) as the couple I bought it from never used the windows. I tried banging on the area where the motor is for a temp fix and did work for a while. on one of them, the other, driver reard door is a no go. makes no indication that it will roll down, now same with the passenger rear. But now, I use the switch for both rear doors and neither even sound like they attempt to move the window. I have already checked the parts out and it $45 USD for each motor and should not be that hard to do my self, just pull one and place the new on in. My question to the mechs here is are ther any test that I should try before buying these motors? I think the fuse box has one fuse for all windows so what other options are available. Just want to get the tint on the rear windows without that half inch gap as they do not move down.

    Many thanks in advance.

Get yourself a charged car battery and some leads that will fit into the electrical connector of each motor (you'll need to remove the door trim, etc.). Apply power one way and the window should go down - and reverse should make it go up. Do it a few times. The tracks the glass runs in are probably sticky too, so spray some silicon spray on those and work the window up and down. If the motors don't work, they are probably seized from lack of use. They may come good with removal and working them out of the car. If the motors do work the switches are probably lazy or there is a problem in the wiring somewhere.

I just got some LED tail lights for my 05 Pathfinder, and one of them has gone out now twice in the few weeks that I've had them. I took it in, and had something reset which got rid of the problem until now. Could it just be that it's sucking too much power from the battery and it's causing a fuse or something to blow?

Maybe one of the LED lamps is faulty, drawing too much current intermittantly. Normally, LED lamps use less power than their incandescent originals.

Wagon is correct. If the LED installation precipitated fuse failures then most likely the LED lamp is bad.

I agree. More likely fuel, though. Many carburettors have a little mesh filter near where the fuel line goes in... it may be blocked. It is also possible the fuel in the tank is bad - eg. water logged. Many carby motors don't like ethanol (alcohol) blend fuels either - they will run like $hit. Check the main fuel filter too. Check the fuel lines and clamps - even back at the fuel tank. The gauze filter in the tank maybe partially blocked. It may also be worthwhile giving the carby a spray inside and out with carby cleaner.

Dumb question... I'm sure it's super simple...

Just got a 1991 Nissan 240SX, stock, flipup lights. When I turn on the brights, the headlights simply shut off. Everything else is fine.

    Yar...
