AFAIK the Minimi is in use with the Air Force only. Other branches are getting some HK MG-4 as seen above in this thread.

Wamba,sorry but i think you're wrong.The Minimi is used also in the Moe and the "Infantería de Marina".Take a look to the next link for example...

No he never picked a regiment, he created a new brigade from zero. With his own aviation unit and all that crappy propaganda.

I just have a question for you Boreal.Do you know which is the only unit in the Armed forces which hasn't reduced its budget with the current economic crisis?..It's not hard to guess unfortunately..

I don't see the UME as such a bad idea. (BTW I don't do or like politics at all)

Can't be argued that less money is needed to use military personal than to hire civilians to increase the Spanish emergency response capabilities.

If question is: Do we need to increase those capabilities?

I don't see the UME as such a bad idea,too.However,i think that unit should be formed in its majority by civilians supported by some military units like engineers and others when them be required according to the gravity of the situation.

Regarding to the aerial component of the UME,it would belong to the Air force,like the 43 rd Group for example.

That's my humble opinion about this matter!!
