UK strikes...?
No idea how reliable this is...
http://www.tempointeractive.com/hg/n...396610,uk.htmlTEMPO Interactive, LONDON:The UK has sold 24 Eurofighter Typhoons worth 2 billion pounds to Indonesia. The sale was agreed upon by the British and Indonesian governments last year.
Has this been verified? I can't even begin to understand why Indonesia would buy the Eurofighter... To replace their F-5's?... Didn't even know the Eurofighter was in that bidding. And I mean, not that I'm an expert defense analyst or anything, but wouldn't more Su-30's or Su-35's be more logical? Not particularly different from the Su-27's or Su-30's they already operate. And with the KF-X on its way, why not focus on that? I will remain skeptical until this actually has been confirmed.
I also have doubts, but if it is true, then the deal would be indeed beneficial to both parties, I recall reading somewhere that BAE also offered to upgrade Indonesian Hawks.
No,..its just a rumor ar an offer from U.K,... Indonesian Air Forces still on track program as bellow : Aquisition of 16 brand new Korean T-50 Golden Eagle with light attack capability, Addition of 6 brand new Sukhoi SU-30 MK2 version and convert earlier SU-27 SK/SU-30MK to SK2/MK2 version. Aquisition of 24 used F-16 from US and convert that avionic to nearly equivalent of F-16 block 50s version. Aquisition of 16 brand new Embraer Super Tucano attack aircraft from Brazil. Possibly to receive grant of 6 Used F-5 Tiger from South Korean, as bonus of T-50, chang bogo subs contract and joining on KFX programme. Non fighter program: Receive up to 5 used C-130 Hercules grant from Australia and Norwegia. Contract of 9 brand new EADS C-295 with offer to build locally by licence. Contract of 7 brand new EADS EC-725 Cougar combat SAR helis. And others locally contract to Indonesian Aerospace,... So,...Thypoon, Rafale, Grippen or SU-35 still far away,....

Sweet pic, thx for sharing..
I myself stumbled across this little treasure at http://theaviationist.com/2012/04/16/towed-decoy/.
First picture of the towed radar decoy I have seen so far:

An interesting development, look at this photothread form Warton, BAE facility. Seems that IPA 5 was fitted with a new nosecone that presumably houses the new AESA radar.

Saint-Dizier
Malaysia and the HMD:The RAF's No. 3(F) Squadron deployed two of its Eurofighter Typhoons from their base in Coningsby to France recently in order to visit the Armee de l’Air’s Rafale 1/7 Squadron at their Saint-Dizier air base.
The visit, which took place between the 2nd and 5th March 2012, was part of a long-term strategic partnership agreed recently by the two countries and marks a new approach in the relations between the two air forces.
A pilot exchange programme between the two aircraft types is also planned this year. It has until now, been uncommon to see Eurofighter Typhoon and Rafale working together in a ‘friendly’ way.
The two aircraft have met several times during Dissimilar Air Combat Training and in almost all the encounters, Typhoon emerged with significantly better performances. As stated to Eurofighter World by an Italian Air Force pilot who recently had a chance to enter into ‘combat’ against Rafale over the Tyrrenian sea: “It was an interesting duel. They are still trying to find where
we were as we were flying and shooting at them well above the maximum flying envelope allowed to the Rafale”!
Typhoon proved to be a real winner in the exercise despite aircraft performance being reduced for security purposes. The squadron pilots were full of praise for the new capability and "at no time did a Typhoon pilot feel threatened". Typhoons were always on top in air combat.
HUD weapon solution was actioned quickly (even from an disadvantaged position) against the underpowered Australian F-18s, the endurance limited Malaysian Mig-29 and the aggressively flown F-16. A little more work was needed against the Singaporean F-15E.
This was the first RAF operational deployment with the Helmet Mounted Symbology System (HMSS) which was considered a significant capability enhancement and proved reliable throughout.
RMAF pilots were "blown away" by airframe performance and a notable comment from the Australian exchange pilot on 6 Squadron was that he would rather go to war in Typhoon than in an F-18! 6 Sqn successfully completed more than 70 sorties during the detachment totalling 164 flying hours. Moreover, the squadron delivered 100% of the sorties it planned during the exercise itself.

A look at the Captor AESA E-Scan with repositionable antenna.
Hey does anybody know anything whatsoever about the EF-2020.
Also does anybody know if Italy is planning to buy anymore in future or the current tranche.
thanks in advance.
Eurofighter2020 is the industry description for the proposed upgrade path. It would include TVC, AESA, CFTs etc.
However not all elements of that proposal may be realized.

Italy already signed for the future Tranche3A and may sign for 3B. However 3B is uncertain due to the obvious budget restrictions..
