I'm doing my theoretic exam in the of december, can't wait to drive a car. It rains a lot here, so riding my bike isn't all that in winter.

maybe not interesting for somebody, but for me a suprise. Designer of Bugatti Veyron, and later designer of Audi cars:

a Slovak man - Jozef Kaban, just new chiefdesigner of Škoda

btw, Škoda Joyster, contrary to my annoucement about serial production a short time ago, won´t be produced, VW chief sent Joyster to museum...
Anyway Škoda cars are good, but my affair of the heart is Tatra, after that Subaru, just boxers are boxers) BTW some people are talking about restoration of passengers cars production in Tatra...
    so...maybe?

    just my dream

Fernando Alonso will race for Renault next season alongside Nelson Piquet Jr, it was confirmed on Monday. The move marks Alonso’s return to the team with whom he won two world titles and follows a troubled 2007 season with McLaren.

Piquet’s promotion from test driver to race seat means Renault will field an all-new line-up for next season - and leaves current stars Giancarlo Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen...
2008 is going to be a hell of an interesting season

Renault doesn't have the money to compete.

The biggest budgets for 2007 were in Toyota and Honda. Seems money is not the most important issue here.

If Renault had the budgets Honda and Toyota have, they would be right up there. Honda and Toyota spend the money, but are years behind the bigs when it comes to Tech. Which is weird when you look at their street cars. Specifically, Acura and Infiniti.

I'd say look at BMW Sauber with smaller budget than Honda and Toyota they are clearly no. 3 (well, 2) behind the big two. BMW got into F1 only few years ago and now they are well ahead of Toyota or Honda.

It was the same thing when I ran cars in CART and the IRL here in the US. Toyota would pump loads of money into their program and their engines were crap. Too heavy, unreliable. In IRL our Oldsmobile engine was killing them. Of course, in the IRL now, Hondas the only engine manufacturer, so they're winning.

It's preety interesting to read that Toyota engines were unreliable. Mind you, Toyota is staring to have problems with quality here in Europe. Especially with Avensis and some other models.

Ah, sh*t. I'm giving Toyota a bad name. It was Nissan/Infinti motors that had the reliability problems.

What's the Avensis? We don't have that one here.

It's a family saloon Toyota makes for the European Market. Let's say it's equivalent of Camry but designed and built with EU in mind.

There were serious issues with petrol and diesel engines in these cars and some of the electronic parts were malfunctioning.

Would've figured they'd be tight when it comes to electrics. We're they sensors in the engine, or things like windows and sunroofs?

According to Auto Bild testers (and some of my friends) the problems with diesels were with common rail direct injector systems while the petrol engines malfuncioned and had crankshaft problems. There were also severe problems with front suspension and transmission. Toyota mechanics say it's the worst Toyota in years.

Wow. Toyota is losing some of it's sheen here as well. Mostly about fit and finish right now.
