    I don't really get the point of saying that. Thats a given that a WRC car would lap a track faster then a car that is purposely sliding...

    Do the drivers in NASCAR not try to get around the track as fast as possible whilst dodging flaming car wreckage in a constant left turn? It's boring racing but it's racing. Drifting is for show.

    Nascar is partly for show aswell , after all most people seem to be waiting for a stack.

    Drifting is still about car control, it takes skill control a car like that, though it's not racing, it's impressive and fun to do.
