Cool, I knew the a couple of the guys who where in the team where the cat tried to drag one off.
Razorback must have been in '68. But in '68 it was called LZ Stud, Maybe it was in '69. Doggie green utes would be '68. Do you have the year.
I have a SVN beret like that somewhere in my collection.
Bush hat, yeah, guys would form those hats. Not like to day, where they just flop them on. That's was one style. I still have my boonie. I have pics of my daughter modeling it with the two ways I styled mine. It was taken for RVN reenactors.
Has anybody heard of the Pennsylvania Trojan Horses special forces unit. Because my dad was in that unit during the Vietnam War.
A couple more Marine Recon.
Man, This guy looks like he could be 16 years old!
Awesome pics! MACV-SOG were the most hardcore guys i can imagine. SFOD-D was formed by a former MACV-SOG Operator. MACV-SOG Operators were the first to do HALO Jumps etc.
Go out and read the book by Mr. Plaster about MACV-SOG.

This is what Marine Recon teams looked like after insertion. A HMM-164, callsign "Yankee Tango Six," inserted this Marine Recon Team on January 19, 1968, during the Tet Offensive. Presented by popasmoke.com, with good amplifying text.
This is a photo of NVA coming down across Laos toward Khe Sanh, taken in 1968 by a US Army special operations group team operating out of Phu Bai. When asked how many NVA they had observed, the answer was "Thousands of 'em!". This is a clear photo showing the "Rice Bags" used to feed them on the long march down from North Vietnam. Colonel Charles Beckwith commanded Detachment B-52 for Project DELTA, which was still under command of the 5th SFG. Later "Greek" projects SIGMA and OMEGA were handed over to the MACV-SOG, but as far as I know not DELTA.
I don't know much about HALO operations, but that list reports one HALO jump by British SAS in Oman as soon as 1967.
These guys are taking two LAWs each ! I guess it was more a direct-action mission than a recon one...
