Sixactual - there is another line on this board dedicated to SOG (see below). You ought to post these pictures there as well as in this line.
http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...light=Macv-sog
There are some old MACV-SOG people from that era that occasionally post on this board, my twin bro elfstone being one of them, fergerson being another.. They may be able to direct you to information that you will appreciate.
Finally, I recommend that you scan all the pictures you have. You can then go to a host site, such as webshots.com, create a free account, and post those pictures on line. Here is an example, my webshots page.
http://community.webshots.com/user/Jacknola
Then when the photos are in digital form and on the net, you can post all of them anywhere on the internet you please instead of posting a picture of a picture.. These are historical pictures and unless you are going to copywrite them and keep them close, they will go everywhere once out on the net. Don't be surprised if some of your fathers old team see them.
Regards,
Did philipines and taiwanese soldiers also fought in vietnam as the south koreans did, and if yes, are there any pics?
Thanks gents.
No Taiwanese troops, though IIRC a covert ROC air force squadron did support some MACV-SOG operations, flying unmarked C-123s. The Philippines did contribute a "civic action group" from their army. There were also a fair number of Filipino civilians employed by US contractors and also by the CIA.

There was a group called Pacific Architects and Engineers.
They had a bunch we called "Tech reps"
who did a lot of our heavier camp maintenence.
Dunnowho they worked for.
Drilled us a water well one time-a big deal after ditch water for a year.
Also did work on our vehicles.
Everything we had belonged to Viets, though.
The last pic you sent out , of the Mcguire rig , is a classic. It appears you have an actual B&W. Treasure it.
There is /was a SOG Trooper in Birmingham, Alabama with Twenty Special Forces , Headquarters Company. Probably retired. He is pictured in this thread in a reunion group pic. He may be ALOT of help to you.
The Lt.Col , who was the Headquarters Chaplin at the time I knew him, had many "interesting" comments about Plaster's Book on SOG teams.
I bet if you contact the admin office (S-3) they mite be able put you toward him.
But It would help if I could remember his name ! LOL !
I raise my glass and salute your Father ! RT teams were comprised of a unique breed of men.

Not sure what you mean by "interesting."
The only complaints I hear from guys is that he got a few names and places mixed up.
Otherwise most are quite happy with his stuff.
Let me clarify: I meant "Interesting" to what he, the Lt.Col at the time, added to Maj. Plaster's book. The Col. would add general details to a particular moment or excerpt, in the book. He would comment positively and give a personal insight(s) about the men he , the Lt.Col, worked with.
Not in a derogatory sense at all.
I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Besides SOG's 'First Flight Detachment' (part of OP 32 & OP 75, Air Studies Branch & Air Studies Group)you were talking about (which weren't ROC AF pilots IIRC, but rather mercenaries from Nationalist China along with American pilots) there also was a small official ROC Army advisory contingent present in Vietnam. Around thirty officers were responsible for establishing a political warfare system.
