Major Larry Thorne (a.k.a Lauri Törni) in Vietnam.

These pics were just floating around so I don't have much info. I assume they're from '65.

Hah that's so true. I've always thought that he's doing some serious posing in that second pic.

There is obviously a lot of interest in the SF and in particular the SOG operations in Viet Nam. I recently picked up an excellent first-person account on the subject that was published in 2007. Entitled "On The Ground-The Secret War in Viet Nam". It was written by John Stryker Meyer and John F. Peters. Meyers served two tours with RT Idaho at FOB-1. Meyer left the Army, became a journalist, and is now a columnist for the North County Times near San Diego. As one might expect from a professional writer, the book is well done and is recommended to anyone with an interest in SOG operations. It has a number of good photos as well.
