I saw this picture and the man in the center is wearing what looks to be a sweatshirt. Is this actually a sweatshirt? and if it is, would it do a good job in afghanistan? Would it hold up to wear and tear well? I dunno, i just never thought a sweatshirt would be the first choice of something to wear. On another note, I saw a picture posted of Special forces with Hamid Karzi, and one of the men in that picture had the same thing on. Do u think they could be the same people? Thanks for your time,
Uhhhhh, don't you know sir (looks around nervously)

We all had NorthFace stuff and TurtleFur stuff so there's no telling what he's wearing. Whatever suits you and how you operate. Personally I didn't like anything that I had to pull over my head to get off. That makes it impossible to get off with you vest on and you can open the front of a zippered front fleece jacket (i.e. NorthFace or Tommy Franks Smoking Jacket) and let off some heat without disrobing. Just my two cents!!

I had a Colombia (pull over) rain jacket. (See, I even break my own rules sometimes) and yes the list of gear that you might see was endless. Any well made Gortex or rainproof type jackets that you could find that were relatively quiet were used. The stuff the Army gave us just wasn't that great, even the newest stuff. The only thing that the Army did give me that I still have BTW is the SPEARs underwear system. Silk to Fleece system that ROCKS!!
