This is my first post here and since some have already posted air force photos, here are 3 I've made this summer. In the past few years, I have been able to take hundreds of photos of the Gazelles and the Hueys, and few of the Ravens as well.

    Best regards to all. Vatche

Vatche welcome, I know you from the LFPM forums.
I have used couple of your pictures in this thread. You can locate them in the previous pages.

I'd like to welcome Vatche, he is a big source for Air crafts photos. And he is a great source for all the special LAF airforce images.

Just went through the excellent photos posted here, very nice collection and a job well done to all.

Have a question, does anyone know the fate of the AMX-13 light tanks? Haven't seen them in ages.

The Lebanese army acquired AMX-13 before 1975 and during the war.
Also used during clashes with palestinians militias in 1991.

Old wrecks of AMX-13 are stored in the so-called "reserve of the General Command" in Amchit (a town near the sea).

Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I'm a Lebanese living in the USA. When I was younger, I used to be very fascinated with militaries and military equipment. Now not so much but ever since the Nahr el-Bared battle last summer, I've been interested to learn more about the Lebanese Army.

Good to see you on here Vatche. What a small world...or should I say what a small internet?

Mainly just American-built M113s with Soviet-built ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns mounted on top of them.

Here is a shot of one firing at Israeli jets:

    Here are a few more:

Does anyone know where this modification for the M113s was done? Was it a local modification? Also how many of these M113s equipped with ZU-23 guns does Lebanon have?

It's interesting to note that Lebanon is actually one of the largest operators of M113s in the world. It has more than 1,100 of them.

By the way, I see there are some pictures of Shilkas used by the Lebanese Army during the civil war. I had no idea Lebanon had these before. Do they still have any left? These would definitely be much more effective and useful than the ZU-23 since they are radar-guided and have a very rapid fire rate.

Are any of these still operational? I've never seen any pictures of them recently.

The original concept comes from the Egyptian Army wich used it as an AA defense system (with Sam-7).
During the war, the militias and the Lebanese army used M-113 ZU-23 principally for ground targets. (M-113 ZPU-1, 2, 4, ZU-23 are local modification).

    Egyptian Army M-113 ZU-23 (and Sam-7).
