    That's "Santa's" helper, similar to Zwarte Piet (Netherlands), Knecht Ruprecht (Germany) etc., only a girl. In Russian speaking countries, she known as Snegurochka. I suppose it's something similar in former YU states.

    IIRC, its only used for training. From what I heard (and seen), those units have an impressive collection of weaponry that they occasionally show off
