I see you got the photos up from the recent exercise they had on the Dokdo helicopter carrier.
    Interesting stuff.
The Seahawks don't look like the ones fully kitted out for ASW.

Also does anyone know how the RoKAF F-15Ks did on that Red Flag exercise?

They are not Seahawks. I believe they are just regular Blackhawks with that color scheme. ROKN can't afford Seahawks or won't spend the extra $ for Seahawks. Some think Dokdo doesn't have any dedicated chopper force because they are waiting for KUH to come online...

So the ROKN is going to wait until all the test are done in the KUH. Then they're going to outfit a KUH for ASV/ASW mission, run tests, go into production, and operate.

It's going to be quite a few years 'till then!

It's alright. South Korea's got more helicopters that have already been used for martime work.

You'll probably see it in the news in about a year or something.

Personally I like those new paint schemes. The glossy black scheme for the Navy Blackhawks were God ugly.

Let's just hope this KHP/KUH is not based on the Eurocopter NH-90.
I know a few folks who actually tried it and they say it's rubbish for combat troops. It's a REMF copter in just about every way.

I believe it's based on Puma (Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma). External appearance looks pretty similar to Puma although the actual parts are different.

Don't think ROKN is in a big hurry. Would be nice to have choppers fill the flight deck like the USN ships but ROK doesn't own any legal dollar printing presses so...

ROKN claimed this Dokdo landing ship was sort of an experimental ship anyways...
