Indian Defence Expo reveals Indian products!

From the makers of consumer cars to military vehicles...Indian automobile makers are all set for a revolution in Military vehicle market. Tata, Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Indian Ordinance factory Board (MoD) are all geared up to stuff Indian military with its low cost options. Following are the pictures from Defence Expo 2008

Mine protected vehicle from the OFB, LFV from Tata, LFV from Ashok Leyland, Striker from Mahindra, Axe (Indian Hummer) from Mahindra

considering 15 years ago the only choice you had was TATA, Leyland and Hindustan Motors, and it was only in the early 90's that the market opened up there has been quite a bit of change in consumer choices

    It's the Mahindra Marksman

    (pic copyright Raj Malhotra)
The Marksman is India’s first armoured capsule based light bullet proof vehicle and is designed to provide protection to Defence personnel, Para Military and Police forces against small arms fire and under barrel grenade attacks. It can also be used in counter terrorist activities as well as in more conventional roles such as armed reconnaissance and convoy protection.
