Wow, no wonder he wants to run from the GWOT, too much stuff to learn to run it.

I'm quite interested in seeing some evidence to back up this wild claim of Mr. Obama's.
sh1t I'd take an AK over an M16 anyday lolz...
(dons flame retardant suit)
What the hell is the tall-ee-bahn?
Guy scares the bejesus out of me by the way.
Soldiers have always improvised in the field historically, but I would like to see more evidence of this at any rate.
Uh, he's quoting a soldier (Captain) who was on the ground in Iraq, if I recall correctly.
I heard that the US Army in Afghanistan had to make do with a captured Taliban chickenhat for the camp mascot cat, and here is the proof:

Politicians LOL…
Hey, look at me Mr. Taliban, waves black M-4 and GPS around, jumps up and down wearing BDU’s… over here, I’m one of thirty six infidels calling down JDAM’s on you’re a*s!
Well I think for some non combat troops that have only issued a M9 Pistol it makes sense to have a AK somewhere nearby, just for the case...

"....supposed to have 39 men in a rifle platoon. Ended up
being sent to Afghanistan with 24 because 15 of those soldiers had been
sent to Iraq. ""And as a consequence, they didn't have enough ammunition,
they didn't have enough Humvees.
They were actually capturing Taliban
weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for
them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief. "
Army captain running a rifle platoon? I'm sure it was while he was still at LT. I never had a full platoon, HQ section or company in my time in the Army, and this was the height of the Cold War when we had a larger military. Between ETS, PCS, TDY, etc., even for big deployments (REFORGER, NTC) I was lucky if I ever hit 75-80% strength; usually it was 50-60%. The only guys I knew that maxed out TO&E folks were my buddies who had commands in the RGR Regt. And I never sustained losses due to cbt ops. I'm a little suspicious of the accuracy.
