O.k. Jackie, it looks as though there were NO Australian Skyhawks from the VF-805 or any other squadron in Vietnam mate. Here is an excerpt from the 805 Squadron page: The Squadron officially re-commissioned on 10 January 1968 and six pilots began training at NAS Nowra that month but stores problems quickly brought training to a standstill. Maintenance crews were having problems getting spare parts for engines, airframes and weapons systems and even had to resort to using cumbersome folding step ladders in place of boarding ladders to get people into and out of the aircraft. The Government had planned to send graduating OFS Skyhawk pilots to Vietnam to serve in US Marine Corps (USMC) squadrons. However, the stores problems meant that the first OFS course finished six months late and by this time, the US policy in Vietnam had become one of 'de-escalation.' If you want you can read the whole history of VF-805 from the web page http://www.navy.gov.au/805_Squadron I have got a few pictures of 805 - A4's but they are small ones mate.

Amazing photos hump, now you make me working hard. I will do it later. But the USAF F-15 Eagle intercepting a Russian Bear I dont see related to this thread. Just my opinion. Many thanks for the aviation site.

Hey E.J. why don't you put it on paper mate, might be an interesting read.

Geeze Hump, I didn't even know anyone cared about the pictures, let alone the stories until recently. I'm still looking for more. Hard to find this stuff after 40 or so years of storage - but I'm still digging them out and will post as I find them.
