Usually when you install software, the computer will make a restore point. Depending upon which version of Windows you are running, there are different methods of rolling back to that point.
I bought my laptop (a Sony Vaio) last summer and I had MSN already installed on it. MSN proposed to download a newer version and it blew everything up.

I'm using Windows 7.
right so to make matters simple what i did was open her up. there was a LOT of dust....
sprayed it out with an air can, tapped it on the ground so as to get the dust INSIDE the graphics fans loose or out and then made sure eveything flush/tight...
so far, all ok.
his gta is running fine...no stops/freezes or drop outs.
although.
every now and a again it goes **** up on BF3...some of it p put down to being kicked.
but would that make it look like im playing when i cant get to the actual game screen? if not why? has anyone else seen this?
and
once, maybe twice the pc has taken itself to power saving mode during BF3 but the PC(fans run until hard shut down)
is the graphic card upto it
here is the spec again:
spec:
intel core2 quad cpu q6700 @ 2.66ghz
4 gb mem
64 bit
nvidia geforce gtx280
windows experience index (?) 5.6
the reason i list this is because i know the BF3 recommended GC is AT LEAST twice what i have.
Q? answers? queries please

Well that's certainly progress to say the least. The recommended isn't really what matters. It's the minumum specs, which you meet. As for "every now and a again it goes **** up on BF3...some of it p put down to being kicked.
but would that make it look like im playing when i cant get to the actual game screen? if not why? has anyone else seen this?" I don't quite understand what you're saying. Just remember there's a plethora of glitches with bf3. The most recent reformat, install and patch have
fixed a lot for me, but they're still evidently there.
Or you could try this:
http://messengergeek.wordpress.com/2...essenger-2009/
Basically you download a tool called Link Reviver
Thanks, it's fixed already.
By the way it's Windows Live Messenger, MSN is a bit 2003.
Ive got a new computer & need to transfer my files from my Ipod, this im not to worried about it can be done but im wondering does anybody know if there is an easy way to dump more songs onto my Ipod. I have another 2500 songs to add. or is there a way to resyncing both or resetting. any help be appreciated.
Turned my PC on today and Avast gave me error saying that the program needed to be restarted but when I click the button that it prompts me to, it goes into a not responding state for about 5 seconds and then nothing happens.
I restarted my PC about 5 times to no avail. So I tried a system restore but that failed as well.
Here's a pic of both issues:
I haven't downloaded any EXEs recently or browsed any shady sites. I'm not sure if this is a virus or just my system acting up but I have no idea what the hell to do next.
Do a backup just to be sure.
Computer fails to load. Upon start-up, the screen has white dots sporadically displayed on the screen, then, several lines comprising of blue dots during the Windows loading process. However, it doesn't get far as moments later the "blue screen" pops up and it crashes, restarting the process. Can anyone provide some insight?
To me it seems like a motherboard issue, as several connectors failed in recent months, prohibiting the use of my secondary hard drive as well as one USB connection which I use for my external.
