Power cable may be faulty or the power circuit to that cbale on either the card or the mobo is faulty. Can you borrow another high power Nvidia card and see how that works?
Yeah i suspect that the graphic card power cable might have developed some snag,i will get it checked soon.

I am running 64bit windows 7 and just recently I have had unknown pci device pop up every time boot up. I look in device manager and it is under other devices. How can I tell what the pc is looking for?

It is weird since it just started over the weekend...

What is listed in other devices? What PCI devices are plugged in?

Desktop, laptop? Check to see if components like sound, etc are working.

Get AIDA64 running on your PC, it'll help you identify all the hardware you have in you computer, whether they're installed or not, then you compare them with the devices listed on "device manager" and see which ones you need to install. It's not free, unfortunately.

My CPU arrived. I'll order my other parts on Sunday and they should be here by Wednesday or Thursday.

    "re"building new PC.

Going with the AMD Athlon II X3 455 Rana 3.3GHz Socket AM3 ($80 and i can unlock to make it a x4) but need a good motherboard. Any recommendations? Must be under $100 a big plus if it has ACC (Advanced Clock Calibration) and must have AMD OverDrive to overclock. Only have IDE HD but i can get a converter.

Try this. $80, has everything you asked for, and is getting good reviews.

I was trying to strip down my PC this morning and ran into some problems. I have two screws on the mob that will not come out at all. I have a feeling the stubborn bastards are spinning on the risers. Anyway to get those two out before I lose my temper?

Im not so sure how those micro atx boards are. What is the next size up?

As for your MoBo screws. Try to get some needle nose pliers between the board and tray to hold the risers in place, careful not to snap the board. You could also use hot glue to glue the riser down until you can get the screw out.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Here's another board for you.

Go into the device manager, and click the properties button of the offending item. Under details tab, then use the pull down menu under property and navigate to "hardware IDs". Try goggling those strings and see what you come up with.

Ive had problems with things like Intel power management features showing up as a unknown PCI device until the correct drivers are installed. Just a guess anyway.

Still can't get those screws out. My next attempt will be taking some needle nose pliers, go to the back side panel of my case, and unscrew the risers that way.
