My Shure's I use for dedicated listening cost about that much, I know most people would have a heart attack to pay that for headphones but I'll never go back.
I hear you, it's a quality of life issue for me.

Pretty much, I have a PC setup with a headphone amplifier and a solid DAC. My actual stereo is a little more old school. I use actual headphones for both of them though, a modded pair of Denon's.

The Shure's are for my Ipod setup for on the go.

What about the cable/cables? Major issue for me with the 5HV2 was that the cable is WAY too long for me(it's like they assumed people would be on the other side of the room from their PCs), and it constantly curls in on itself, to the point of degrading sound quality.

Here is a description for the PC 360. Detachable cables are the norm more and more for audiophile headphones, but don't know if that is featured with the gaming stuff.

    Features

    • Professional gaming with a cool head – the open design lets air in and delivers a natural listening experience
    • Superb Sennheiser sound – excellent hi-fi sound and acoustics from your games, music, movies and internet calls
    • Noise canceling clarity – the microphone reduces ambient noise for crystal-clear conversations
    • Ultra comfortable – XXL velvet ear pads and a cushioned headband keep you going
    • Intuitive design – the volume control is integrated in the right ear cup
    • Automatic microphone mute – mute the microphone by raising the boom
    • Freedom of movement – there’s only one cable, so you can turn your head without getting in a tangle
    • All-in-one headset – when you want to enjoy movies or music, just move the microphone out of your way
    • Peace of mind – thanks to the 2-year international warranty

Sennheiser has an excellent repair facility and warranty, I hope to get off my ass and send my baby in to their shop this week.

    Suckup...

Anyway, Ceej, there's likely a video about how to get into and use the XP recovery console on youtube, if that's handier for you.

Seriously though, people on MPN have helped me with tech stuff, so I like offering help in return.

That's because the mods are older than dirt. I imagine it's like teaching your parents or grand parents who to navigate a website.
