You drunk like me ????

no, exams around the corner makes me unable to get drunk
windows 7 and a hp mouse
I did some searches on google. Not much on English sites, but loads and loads of hits on German sites.
Sadly, there is not one solution which works for all.
Viruses and Keyloggers are mentioned most, followed by USB-problems (Hubs, etc.). Thirdly I would try to run the bare minimum of problems and therefore find out, which could cause this problem. (msconfig).
I'm having a serious issue. For some reason, beginning this morning, I haven't been able to get past the Windows login screen. I'll enter my password, and the system will just hang indefinitely. I restart and can get in on Safe mode (which is what I'm doing now). I've googled, and I see other solutions to the problem. The problem is, the various Win7 hotfixes and graphics cards updates that seem to work require me to not be in Safe mode. I'm in a bit of a conundrum here - I can't get on my puter without Safe mode, but in order to fix my computer I have to login without Safe mode.
HALP.
Have you tried restoring your computer to an earlier date?
So.. scored on a Seagate 500GB Momentus Hybrid XT Hard drive (Sale for $90 - $80 gift card = $10) and a friend that works with microsoft sent me a Window 7 ultimate OS.
Problem
Old HD (IDE) has vista, boots fine
New HD (SATA) loaded with Win7, boots fine
When Old HD and New HD are hooked up (with Old HD as slave) still boots into Vista. When Old HD is disconnected and New HD is connected, boots into Win7, when old HD is then connected it is not detected.
Put Old HD into external and Win7 still does not detect.
Connect Old HD and still boots into Visa fine. So the HD is not bad. I want to use the old HD for storage. Any reason why i cant have new HD SATA run as primary and have old HD IDE be a secondary?
To reformat, should i insert OS DVD and try to format the Old HD that way?
SATA doesn't have Master Slave anymore. Which disk is booted from is set in BIOS. I doubt IDE-disks are hot-swapable. Disk Management lets you format disks easily, is part of Windows 7.
How many SATA ports does the motherboard have? Did you try using an other port? Some motherboards seem to need the boot-sata-device being on sata0.
