    Default Need help with computer

Forgive me but Im very computer illiterate. Ive got a little problem with my Windows Movie Maker. Im trying to put a movie I shot on my digital camera and downloaded onto my computer. But the movie maker doesnt recognize the movies. It sees the pictures but not the movies. Could it be that they are in Quick Time Player and not Windows? Should I get rid of my Quick Time player? Sorry but I dont talk computer very well , LOL.

Try VLC media player and see how it works, I'm guessing the problem is that quicktime doesn't play the format that you used for recording.

    What is a good firewall?

I'm trying to avoid the free ones and torrents for the most part will take care of that. Need one that doesn't drag on resources. I'm running barebones but I'd still prefer to have all the CPU I can get.

    http://www.smoothwall.org/

I used an earlier version years ago and it worked well. NO cpu overhead since it used an old PC as the firewall connection. I used to enjoy watching the logs and such as bots and hackers tried accessing my system.

yeah windows movie maker sucks. Had it on XP and Vista I think. Never worked. It either didn't recognize something or it would stop in the middle or it wouldn't save in the right format. SUCKS

Sysgate Firewall + Peer to peer guardian. You won't even feel them running on your pc.

I have some files that I want to host to make available on teh interwebs. Can anyone recommend a good free file hosting site? About 100MB in total of PDF's.

Should be no trouble. Your XP box would be just another machine on your LAN.
