Default Iphone went for a swim

Sooo this weekend I fell out of a boat... phone was in my pocket.

As I know many of you own Iphone, what are possible solutions before I go out and buy a new one? I've read about many remedies but what works?

worst of all the phone was on and was vibrating vigorously when I got out of the water.
now it does not turn on at all. short circuit?

any helpful suggestions are welcome, thanks.

    Get an android ....

Generally you immediately turn it off, pull the battery, dry it off and stick it in rice (to absolve) the water and then pray to Steve. But from the sounds of what you are saying, looks like it is dead. Look into the headphone jack or connection jack, if you see a red (http://osxdaily.com/2011/02/08/iphon...sor-locations/ ) its over

I hate everything that makes my phone thicker than it should be (as I carry in my front pocket) - I guess here I pay for it.

    Forget it.

    Seawater = death.

I managed to salvage a water damaged iphone and it worked for two months, then the backlight failed.

If in salt water, then dump it in some fresh water to try get rid of the salt.
Then take out the battery and let the whole thing sit in a jar of rice for a while (like mentioned above) to get rid of the moisture.

Could work, could not. Good luck!

and don't use a hair dryer.

I dropped once my cell to water, I took all the possible parts that could be taken away and put it into sauna for a few hours. Worked after that.

Question I dunno if what im asking is illegal.....please excuse me if it is though:)))

    Dear firends,
It seems we have so very extremely skilled and educated people on this thread,I was doing information technology a while back and we were using dev pascal programming .Our teacher told us that if you would understand programming you would know who to hack.I was a pro in devpascal and worte algorithms in pascal syntax off my head but i stilled tried to hack and miserably failed. Are their any good books out there in book stores that teach you to hack safely over the internets(ie remote hacking) from the basics or any good recommendations that would be valuable to me if i want to be skilled in this sector
moderator in red(i didnt realise moderators had red names) sorry if this is illgeal what im posting here(but i really dont know)....ok

Yes. It was few years ago though. Not sure if the trick would work with the latest hitech phones.

    It wouldnīt.

Russianlynxy: iPhone 3 I presume? Itīs dead, sorry. And itīs cheaper to buy a new one than repair it. Besides, itīs iPhone weīre talking about. It has integrated battery, even if you somehow managed to open it (iPhone 4 have unique screws which can be opened only with special screwdrivers which is not for sale) youīre not getting any part out of that phone without destroying it completely. Word to the wise - donīt buy iPhones. Although 1000USD for iPhone? Here iPhone 4 cost 700euro and I though that Apple has same price for whole European region.
