No idea sorry, Perhaps try another system such as Avast or AVG?
I was thinking we should put together a list of free software we use that can do the job of the expensive stuff.
Thoughts -
Firewalls
Anit Virus
Anti Spyware etc
Hmm, NOD32 on Vista, now there's a hell of a combination. AT a guess, the temporary files NOD32 creates when it's downloading updates have become corrupted. If you can find where it places these files, you can delete them, then try running the update process manually.

I restarted the computer and it went away!
That is so weird. Anyway, T3ngu idea is great!
I use Nod32 trial version (99999999 days), windows defender and window firewall.
Some fun I had with a user today.
Visiting a client, a small outfit, just a dozen staff and 2 servers with next to no budget for software or anything else. The boss-lady was complaining about her receptionist who spends all day surfing bebo, myspace, facebook etc and doing no farking work.
The BOFH to the rescue. Suddenly, receptionist's internet policy has a fake proxy address that means no web browsing, with a small list of "bypass the proxy server" addresses she needs to do her work. (All done with group policies if anyone cares).
Her screams of outrage were music to my ears.
I'm currently applying for a scholarship and the application form is a .pdf document. I'm supposed to write my details in the space required, but I'm at a loss as to how I do this. How can I type on this .pdf document? It has to be filled out and emailed back to the HF Officer so printing it isn't an option.
If they've designed the form correctly, you can double-click on the area of the form you need to enter information on, and it will let you add text (even if all you have is Adobe Reader). If there's a section somewhere for you to sign, it will let you attach a digital signature as well (The digital sig will just be your name typed out, but due to the way it's done, it's still a legally binding signature).
If for some reason it's still not working, PM me the link to the online doc if you want, and I'll take a look see.
Was hoping for some help with an issue at work. Every now and then I have to visit a particular website which is a menu of links. I have to visit each link and print off the page, the page its self may have another link on it that I also need to go to and print off. What I'd like to know is if there's a particular programme that I can get to do that automatically rather than continually clicking on links and pressing Ctrl+P.
I have Toshiba Satellite p105-s9337 with a 256 meg Nvidia Gforce Go 7900 GS. running vista. out of S&G i wanted to hook it up to my TV via the S Video out on the laptop, but the video on the TV only shows up grey, is this normal or is there a way to make it color?
Apparently you are not the only one (http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion...27043-150.html). No fixes listed there from what I can see.
Also discussed here. http://www.motherboardpoint.com/t155...rey-scale.html

edit **
Probably not a NTSC/PAL thing.
The other suggestion seems to be the quality of the cables supplied with the cards.
Sorry I cant be of any real help.

Sorry Gaz, don't know of any software that'll do your job for you. Perhaps you should be glad. However, when I get back to work on Tuesday, I'll ask some of my co-workers if they've heard of any.
Apache15x, do you mean that the video output shows up grey or that the entire screen only displays in grey scale? If the video alone shows up as a grey blob, I'd say that Vista's "copyright protection" feature strikes again. If effect, it'll only play stuff through HDMI. Note: This is only what I have read/heard, I have not encountered it in the field ... yet.
it only shows up in grey scale
Have you tried with a different S-Video cable? You may also want to try changing the resolution that you are outputting to the external screen. See if it makes a difference running (say) 800x600.

"What can QuicKeys do for me?
Once you simplify your daily computer tasks with QuicKeys, the benefits are obvious. With QuicKeys installed on your PC, those routine, repetitive, time-consuming tasks you do all day long can be automated with a single keystroke or mouse-click. Tasks that took minutes take seconds. Jobs that took 15 steps, take one. Add it all up. At the end of the day you’ll have saved a lot of precious time… so you can spend more time on the really important things in life."
OK, I thought I'd try an experiment along the lines of that done by Apache15x, hooking up my home computer to my plasma tv via s-video.
Result: Grey and fuzzy images. I had to go into my nvidea display settings control panel and change the output to "s-video" and PAL-B (my regional TV settings), and after that I got colour and high resolution. It did look overly bright, so if I was doing it long term I would have fecked about with the contrast/brightness settings.
Having got this going, I ran a few divx videos on screen and tried running Homeworld 2 as well. Both looked good, better in fact than on my normal 19" LCD monitor.
So, recommendations. Take a look at the output settings in your NVidea control panel and make sure they are set to s-video and your TV's regional output (although many modern screens are multi capable and can do NTSC and PAL and SECAM sometimes too).
