I still don`t know why all NATO countries have no problem in showing weapons and capabilities.
And Romania a small weak country is so secretive about all it`s armed forces , it`s like the Cold War never stopped .

Have as main mission gathering strategic and very important tactic inteligence, ( infiltrating deep behind enemy lines, thru parachuting, helicopter insertion, using all kind of land vechicles, or even by foot, as well on and under water insertions ), as well psy ops, diversions / sabotages on vital enemy targets, capturing enemy materials, kidnapp enemy personel ( high rank ones ), or even assasinate enemy liders. The soldiers of this battalion must have a specific psichological profile, be smart and very inventive, know how to "disaper in peisage" and camouflage for prolonged periods of time, know foreign languages , foreign weapons, telecomunication systems, enemy habits and way of life and comportament, and are trained very well in CQB and hand to hand combat. They are, in a way, a combination between russian "spetznas" and french "dragons", have almost the same kind of missions.

Cmc, I guess you referred to combat divers. They belong to navy but they are named The Naval Detachment of Special Operations Forces.

Cmc, like I said in first page of this thread, there is a squad from 1st Special Operations Battalion "The Eagles" in Afghanistan since 2006, the last squad with 39 soldier since October 2007. Have you looked at this thread from beginning? There are more pics with sof, and useful information.

Well, we are not quite small, we are on number 7 as teritory, and 11, if i remember corect, as population, in Europe ( somewere between Australia and Canada as number, for ex.). About they beeing so secretive, well, i dont know why, but all armies have secrets, and even all hear about SAS or Seal, or Spetznas, they have too a lot of secrets, and do a lot of things who nobody know about. There is much more behind some pics with masked guys shooting HK MP 5 and walk in fancy camouflage equipment.

Yes i agree but there are documetaries and books about SAS for example as opposed to the romanian SOF.
We are a small country and maybe in 10 years we could be called europeans.
Any other pics or info would be very appreciated. 10x

Yes. The top is Uzi, but has a grip. I'm looking for real photos. I just found this, but there is little info.

Well, compared with others, we are a small country, for others, we are a medium size one. But, if you wish to consider small, its your choice. About Humint Batallion, some info about their training. One training mission was something like a night parachuting, at some hundreds kilometers from base, in an unknow terrain ( usualy forest ), and then they haved a fixed amount of time to come back to base, but without to be spoted / observed by civilians or instructors who have a discreet surveillence of main roads, and comunication lines ( as railroads ). As well, another kind of training was to infiltrate in guarded places, ofcourse, without to be discovered, to obtain info about that place, or for "sabotage" mission.

Well, its not an UZI, it have a simplified version of AKM internal mecanisms, its very light, have the classic 9x19 mm caliber, and, as you see in that other photos, can have atached a lot of "toys" on him ( even a handguard under barrel, laser pointer, optic scopes, etc ). Its mainly used by gendarmery and police special units
