IDF -- I know the IDF is fairly relaxed with uniforms, but would this soldier be allowed to wear these Doc Martin boots without any trouble?

When it comes to IDF, I guess NCOs are happy enough when their female soldiers wear pants with their original, unaltered waistline. Doc Martin boots? at least she is not wearing white sport shoes. So for Israeli standarts, this must be the postergirl of regulation dress code.

Not that simple. The female soldiers at the non-combat positions (a "combat" position for a female soldier in IDF will be infantry/armor instructor, not necessary being a combat soldier as such) are allowed to chose their own footwear (and given a special allowance for this purpose) as long as it fits some required standards (IIRC they get list of shoes they can chose from, but I'm not sure). Which basically means as long these are black leather snickers/shoes/boots without any "fancy" stuff on them, they are OK.

    Default Jordania

A Jordanian female police attends a ceremony to celebrate Jordan's King Abdullah's birthday at a police academy near Amman February 17, 2009. In a male dominated country, authorities have opted to recruit more women to work in police forces, with some organizing traffic in busy streets of the capital and others joining counter terrorism forces.
