why do IDF female soldiers wear sandels? I would think that would be unsafe in a military environment. Not to metion it looks weird.

Who knows.
Only girls serving in all kinds of administrative positions (which what vast majority of girls in IDF do). It's actually very practical in Israeli climate and consistent with the general IDF "loose" dressing code.
Post the girls with their real uniforms not just parts of them. By the way, if they're carrying gun, it would be cool.
