I was reading through one of Arnie's various poser threads when I read something weird. I couldn't help ,but reply. The quote was into reply about a Polish guy trying to say he hoped he wasn't offending anyone and wasn't trying to pose. The Polish guys airsofts team name was Seal Team Three and they were taking very poser-esque photos.
    QUOTE (Mr Foxhound @ Nov 5 2008, 05:59 AM)
Arnies isnt like Mil photos with there crazy rules. Alot of people love to do posed pictures here. So dont worry. Haha.

    My Reply:
Because MilPhotos is just crazy, silly Military active/veterans getting mad about people pretending to be something they're not. How stupid of them to get offended by people disrespecting them. Jeewilickers!

So the Arnies community decided to comment back on why Mil-Photos is just quite ridiculous.

    QUOTE (Skarclaw @ Nov 8 2008, 11:31 AM)
Yeah, but mil photos is also filled with a lot of fat guys whacking off to helicopters.

    My Reply:
Arnies is filled with fat guys whacking off to kit and other guys in kit.

Been there, seen the photos and there was nothing poser-esque about them. Bunch of guys in tri-colors with some gear. No patches, no ranks, no insignias at all. I find your poser-hunt funny. I wonder if you play airsoft wearing jeans and t-shirt, or maybe you don't play at all and you came here just to make some noise?

Look this is on another board (I don't agree with people posing, and I'm not even a member on Arnies), so as long as there isn't a wave of posing Arniers coming here I say there is no prob.

Hell even on Airsoft Canada DnA tried to "teach" people not to wear badges and such and a lot of people laughed at him.

The best solution would be just to avoid Arnies

So instead of making an actual point, you knew you were wrong so you just retorted with an idiotic comment that barely passes for comedy.

Yeah I gotta agree with Vince on this one. Arnies is for airsofters so you can't expect not to see posers. Also Arnies doesn't have rules about it and not many actual military go on the site. The reason it is such a big deal on this website is because their are rules set up against it and many military and ex military go on this site and go into the airsoft section. Thats why people are bound to get more upset on this site because they are in the military and were awarded their ranks and patches and it offends them when people use those patches, ranks, ect and didn't work for them.

Where I was wrong? Since when word "seal" is reserved for Navy SEALs? Posing means pretending to be someone who you are not; they don't wear badges nor patches nor ranks, guy didn't write anything about being in US SF so where is that friggin posing? Maybe he made a bad face?

I think they should take off US flags as I see no point in wearing them and not being actually american but well, it's hardly any base for posing accusations. It doesn't matter what nationality he is. 90% of airsoft and paintball teams all over the world have "badass" names. As long as it isn't an exact name of military unit I see no disrespect toward soldiers. Oh, and my previous post was at the same level as yours just less serious.

I would like to thank the Sniper clan, the airsofters, and the great people at pete's chicken strips, for without them, I would have not been able to eat so many tasty treats.

333, and let it get to 3333!!!

I have had problems with posing myself. Here in Virginia, kids used to love dressing up as Air force combat controllers, Rangers etc. they scarcely wore patches and such, sure you would see a patch that said army, or the airforce star and wings, but these guys that served in Grenada came to the airsoft community here, and let me just say me as well as the rest of the latest generation are dressing like pmc's to not get yelled at. They would yell for the simplest things, just for wearing US camo. it was odd, but teams are split by camo type, so their loss i guess. i agree completely with the rules here but sometimes it can get out of hand

I never get into these debates about why airsofters do what we do, but I feel the general consensus that we all pose are real world units is false. The gear is generally used because it has a purpose, hold mags, personal items, water, etc... primarily its worn not to pose but to use efficient while playing the game. As for unit patches I would argue that most American and European airsofters understand wearing them is disrespectcul. Our Asian counterparts mostly think otherwise.

At the three fields I regularly play at we have hard rules about wearing unit patches and ranks. One field even has a group of ex-marines who enforce this strongly. As for the kit, well it works. The kit I use is simply to hold things I end up using on the field, function is a necessity. Also personally I refuse to wear camo unless a major event requires it, for me black top/tan lower is enough.

i have it. the eye relief is really short and it doesn't line up 100% with an EOTech reticule (it's taller so you see the roof of the holosight when you're looking down range). i've had mine for awhile but just recently the rubber eye-piece fell off; that's nothing glue won't fix though.
