My index finger doesn't do me a whole lot of good if my Glock is tucked into the front of my pants

Then the other three safeties that are built into the pistol will take care of you.

I've been wounded once and would rather like to lessen my chances of it happening ever again.

I would choose the Dan Wesson over the alloy/lightweight 5-shots. Yes, it is a little heavier but the recoil on a little snub-nose can be nasty, even a K- or L-frame in snubby (2-3") is nicer than in a J-frame.

Plus when you run out of shots you can beat someone with a Dan Wesson

    Amen to that.

Like the G19 for auto-loaders, I don't think it gets much better than a 3" S&W Model 65 for revolvers.

Option 1: S&W m1911. Copy of classic design from quality manufacturer, .45APC caliber. Down turn is price, cost: 1300€.

Option 2: FN BDAO-9, used but condition described as like new. Cost: 590€

Option 3: Glock 17 or 19 pro. Basically factory "pimped" version made exclusively for Finnish market, over length threaded barrel for silencer, modified sights and some other minor modifications to standard model. Cost: 751€

Option 4: Glock 17 or 19. Standard model. Cost: 598€

Option 5: Colt m1911a1, with US Army stamps, apparently unused. Price: not sure.

Option 6: Actually not so much of option. Norinco m1911a1 or Norinco Big Para. Both are Chinese copies classic Browning design and basically same gun in .45APC and 9mmP. Well cheap as hell, but I'm more than bit concerned over quality as my friends have bad experiences over sh!tty quality of same manufacturers rifles.

9mmP vs. .45APC: pros/cons in this issues here in Finland: 9mmP ammo is cheaper here and purchase license is lot easier to get. But .45 is damn COOL.

This is my first pistol and I don't have too much experience with pistols. I have shot both BDAO-9, regular Glock 17 and regular Glock 19 before, FN in army, a friend has Glock 17 and friend of friend has Glock 19. All those are pretty fun and nice to shoot in my opinion, but I prefer Glock 19 over G 17 little bit.
    Blatant self quote for start.

Hopefully I now get some attention from someones with more experience in handguns.

BTW. that BDAO-9 is basically FN HP's double action model.

Simmah don nah, everything eventually gets answered around here.

What you are going to find people telling you is "Buy the pistol you can afford, that fits your hand well, that you have actually test fired, and can easily get ammo for." Then they will tell you..."Just buy the damned Glock".

I am currently glockless. I really liked the 10mm.

Probably the biggest factor is what CJ said. Training is next, what your use too. There are a lot of great autos out there. It still comes down to the shooter not the pistol.

I went a difference route, I had a colt 1993A3, did not like it, it was different than the 1911 custom pistols my friends had, they spent well over $1500 on theirs.

Shot some glocks like that it kicked less, purchased a Glock 17 for the wife, liked it, tried some at the range, it sold me. But it is true, Pistols are personal.
