Springfield Armory, Kimber, and STI all offer 9mm M1911's at reasonable prices.

    Unfair how?

Yeah, I know that our gun laws are technically bit better than American ones, mostly over accessories. Only problem I see Finnish gun laws is proper term would be consideration of specific bureaucrat (In certain places it lot easier to get license for something).

I have huge rats that weigh close to 100 kilo's that a suppressor would be perfect for.

To late I already have 5. They are great for the price, their 1911 are excellent. The new batch will have novak style sights and are 2 tone.

They just came out with a 226 copy in .40cal with rails and I hear rumours of a 220 in .45.

Suppressors are always perfect for vermins, I'm not so sure are those legal in Commiefornia. Considering US gun laws my uncles Holland & Holland mania is quite well served in Florida. He has quite expensive collection of those and various other African big-game guns.

I don't know whether this warrants a new thread, so I'll just ask here.

What's the new hotness in 9mm defense loads? From my extensive research (I googled for at least 4.7 minutes) I'm reading that the Winchester Ranger 127gr +P+ is very good, as is the Federal Tactical 135gr +P+. Does anyone have any experience with either, or does anyone have other suggestions?

I recently procured a nice Sig P228. I had a choice between that and a Glock 17 and after checking them both out for an hour or so, found that I liked the Sig better.

    Go figure.

I've purchased Federal HST for my 9mms and .45.

From what I could find on it, it was one of the best loads out there for home defense.

    Check out Streichers website.

    Thanks, Geez.

Which flavor did you go for, the 124 or 147gr?

There's a gun show in Sharonville, Oh this weekend, I'll probably head over on Saturday around 12:30-1:00pm-ish. Hopefully I'll find something. I'd really like to check out that 135gr Federal load.

Did you get my note about KCR?

the HST is definitely the big thing at the moment, although more and more of the tactics and ammo gurus I hear from seem to (finally, danke gott) be coming around to the idea that pretty much any major-name hollowpoint is at least o.k..
Winchester is supposed to be coming out soon with a new bullet similar to the infamous Black Talon, "only better"; promising similar or improved penetration, huge expansion, and no nasty 3vil little sharp bits falling off. Initial marketing will be to LEO only, although this is a demand-vs-responsibility issue rather than any real reluctance to sell the round to civvies.

I, personally, will be continuing to use Gold Dot until that comes out, with HST or original Hydra-Shok as my backup if I can't get the Gold Dot.

I think it was the 124gr in the 9mm.

I use Gold Dot in my 38spl.

I did as much researched as possible before investing in defensive rnds, but, upon saying that I did purchase around 800rnds of Federals EFMJ for some reason from AmmoMan a few years back, not regreted the move as I will use them in my 9mm AR.......if the Zombies attack.
