If I can't find the 135gr stuff, I'll probably pick up the 124gr HST. From what I've been reading that seems to be what most folks are liking.
I keep coming across this list of what are apparently FBI approved for carry 9mm loads:
Barnes XPB 105 & 115 gr JHP (copper bullet)
Federal Tactical 124 gr JHP (LE9T1)
Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +P JHP
Winchester Ranger-T 124 gr +P JHP (RA9124TP)
Winchester Partition Gold 124 gr JHP (RA91P)
Winchester Ranger-T 127 gr +P+ JHP (RA9TA)
Federal Tactical 135 gr +P JHP (LE9T5)
Federal HST 147 gr JHP (P9HST2)
Remington Golden Saber 147 gr JHP (GS9MMC)
Speer Gold Dot 147 gr JHP
Winchester Ranger-T 147 gr JHP (RA9T)
Winchester 147 gr bonded JHP (RA9B/Q4364)
I did just now.Yes, did you get mine...? P-)![]()
I have been thinking about getting a new CCW pistol as I carry around a Full Size USP .40 and it's getting to be a little more challenging then I would like.
I have looked into several different guns and caliber sizes and found that I would like to stay with .40 cal as I already have one gun in this size already.
So far I have narrowed down my options to a Glock 27 or even 36 (I know it's 45 acp but it's slim line) and the S&W MP 40c.
I have never been a big Glock fan boy, but there many people who own them and I hear good things regarding their durability. The S&W MP 40c is completely unfamiliar to me so I'm a little concerned about quality. However, I did do a search and found some information on this site regarding the full size M&P but nothing to the Compact version.
Could anyone provide information or opinions on the Glocks and S&W?
Thanks
All excellent choices, Depends on your budget. The glock 27 is nice with the night sight setup. And accurate. So far I have narrowed down my options to a Glock 27 or even 36 (I know it's 45 acp but it's slim line) and the S&W MP 40c.
I've never shot an M&P but I hear from good people that they are great guns for CCW.
What about the Walther PPS in .40 S&W? That thing is tiny.
like the guys say.. whats your price range?
and we have a thread http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...d.php?t=134245 that some mod one night when he was bored went and combined a bunch of topics
Since my last thread was closed that must mean I'm supposed to post this question here.

My Budget is under the $575 target for those who asked in the last thread.

As in the other post. My opinion is with the glock 27, but your other suggestions all sound great as well. The glack can be had for that price. If you get it get it with the night sights. I would suggest that you go to youre local dealer and put these all in your hands. Comfort will also play a role. Then pick youre favorite and run with it. They all fall within your price range.
Well if by look through the thread you mean use the search function then yes I have, twice in fact. And as I said in my original post I found some info on the full size MP but nothing on the Compact. There have however been a few drops of information regarding the Glock 27 but no direct conversation comparing the two. Plus there could be more people who have this gun now and have relevant information that was not shared in previous posts.
I hope I'm not breaking some rule by asking a question that has possibly been asked in the past?
x2. The 27 is a great concealment gun. I shot one for T&E a couple of weeks ago and it was a shooter. The one I shot had the +2 floor plate on the mag with a finger exentsion which I view as a must have , unless you're gonna wear it on an ankle rig. If you learn to properly run the gun (reset/prep the trigger correctly, good grip/stance, etc.) it shoots fast and at better accuracy than most of us are capable of. There is a reason Glock has about 65% of the US LE market.
I have only played with the S&W M&P Compact. It feels real good and I like the trigger. With the adjustable backstraps, it may be just what the Dr. ordered. It certainly does not have the following Glock does, but I know of several state and local police agencies that have adopted it; there are a couple of big name Fed agencies snooping around it as well, I have not heard any complaints about them.
I don't think you can go wrong with either a Glock or the M&P.
