Looks like there is a hole cut in that trucks windshield in front of the driver. Is that for mud, or RPG purposes? Man, talk about bugs in the grill.

The mog with the 14.5 on the back is actually an SADF vehicle used by the Pathfinders (Philistines) in their "Sabre" ops in Angola (1981 time frame).

Here's and interesting and obscure story:

The Op that never was - Quartz was a contingency plan to prevent ZANU from coming into power in Rhodesia, and was cancelled three hours before the code-word was due to be given! Three of the original top-secret signals sent to troops are also reproduced.

YANKEEBOBB, God help me if you ever run out of these articles, or get tired of posting them; I've quit reading books at night before going to bed, and now read my laptop. LOL. Thanks, yet again.

P.S. Page 3 of this one was stuck together. You're a sick puppy YANKEEBOBB, most guys have a stack of Playboys like that; You?: Soldier of Fortune. LOL. J/K mate, keep 'em comin'! We're all indebted.

At first let me thank you, YANKEEBOB, for putting up all those great articles! Much appreciated!

And now just a little sidenote: Operation Dingo took place in 1977, not in 1976 as the article states.

Subscribe hell; join in buddy! YANKEEBOBB, myself, and a couple of others are rubbin' two stick together out here on the perimeter, tryin' to get a fire started! Be a pal, and go get us some kindling?

If one types in "Rhodesian Bush War Photographs" as someone who is newly interested in Rhodesia might do; this thread is already the #2 hit on Google. This might well become the number 1 repository to get people started in uncovering the truth about Rhodesia.

It's an important subject, far beyond the obvious, for world affairs. Communist Domino Theory worked in Africa, and the Rhodesians--who were expected to crumble in 6-8 weeks--held out for 15 "F-in" years. Less than 50,000 total fighting men held off the Communist onslaught, while enduring world sanctions from Western Governments at the same time. Think about if they hadn't. Think about 1990, and the exhaustion of Soviet Communism? Connect the Dots. What did those extra 15 years mean to the West? Africa is not only mineral rich, but it's sea lanes for Oil are vital to every Democracy. It's why I refer to them as the modern-day Thermopylae. Yes, the South Africans and Portuguese were involved--and God Bless them for it--also, but I view Rhodesia as the centerpiece. The Rhodesians took a beating for us all, and got spat in the face for doing so.

I'm trying to get a hold of some more, rare, stuff, but every little bit helps immensely. I'd love to make this a long, long thread someday. The kind of thread that future scholars might well rely upon to some extent. Welcome, and thanks.
