They were not specifically for one unit, border troops, snipers, airborne, and other special units all used them.

I have some questions:

Actualy, Yugoslav army intended to leave Slovenia and defend from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Some prediction say that first meet of Soviet and American units clash in Slovenian soil near town Brezice. So Slovenia will be scorched earth.

1. You mean near Zagreb? Once I read somewhere that due to the terrain in northern Yugoslavia, offensive by Warsaw Pact forces are difficult to contain (compared to other parts of Yugoslavia) and that Zagreb was expected to fall within just four days?

2. Some online literatures mentioned that during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, a Soviet airborne division was stationed in alert mode somewhere in an airbase in Yugoslavia, ready for immediate deployment to Middle East. Can someone confirm this?

The Soviets invading Jugoslavia in the event of a Nato Warsaw Pact confrontation...That is perhaps the scenario likely for the period when Tito stood up to Stalin and the west started flirting with Tito, and for a few years after that.

I believe, but not only I, that orientations of all the parties involved in this scenario had already changed by the seventies.

The plan was to stay neutral,but a soviet invasion was expected.The YPA's role would have been to slow down the invader at all costs until the TO (Territorial Defense) and the people would mobilize,arm themselves and shift the industry for the war effort.Most key facilities were in the area of Bosnia and other strategically important areas already.

Tanks,artillery and massive troop forces would been massed near the border in order to hold them as much as possible,while the TO would fight a partisan war when the enemy reached the so called ''bastion''.

Yup,they would retreat to the rough mountainous,heavily forested and barre rocked terrains where they planed to implement a large and long partisan campaign.Thats why we had one of the first jet planes that could take off from grass on unprepared air strips.
