Yeah, quite rare, but a lot of these weapons were donated by former Yugoslav republics. I know Slovenia donated a lot of them to Afghanistan.

Chinese military officers clean up a beach thick with blue green algae in Qingdao, eastern China. The vast algae bloom covers one third of the sea where the world's best sailors are supposed to be competing in just over a month.

I live about 5 miles from the nearest flooding..other than a few days of water rationing because the fresh water pumps were flooded.. and some other minor inconveniences I was uneffected.

...My step sons home basement was flooded and his front porch has collasped. Repairs are underway on that. Our church, FEMA & the Red Cross have really come through for him. His insurance won't cover any of the damage because he lives outside of the 100 year flood zone Arseholes.... His family and thousands others are not permitted to live in their homes until the powers to be, the city of Cedar Rapids, give the go ahead. And that will be some time to come.

The final count says ovre 7,100 homes and buildings in Cedar Rapids were effected by the flood. 27,000 residents were forced to evacuate...It will be a long recovery.
