You misunderstand it here, the KC in KC 135 is a tanker yes, but the KC in KC 390 is not. It is just the name of the Embraer cargo aircraft! It has nothing to do with the French tankers and like the others said they will replace C 130 in the same cargo role that it is also meant for.

It might have the ability to refuel other aircrafts, but the point is it is mainly a cargo aircraft and all versions will be called KC390. Here are more infos info you want:
