And that is only made up of Aboriginals. Any Australian with brains wouldn't even give roo meat to Somalis.

It takes some serious extrapolating to go from "However, only 14.5% of Australians were reported in 2008 as eating kangaroo meat at least four times per year" to "in place of cow meat, Australians eat Kangaroo meat"

    Anyway emu is better

I've never eaten any form of road kill. It's very lean, you need to eat it pretty rare for it to be palatable. If you're not keen on rare lean meat, you probably won't be a fan.
I'd be surprised if 14.5% of the population is eating it 4 times a year.

Every time I see it in the people food part of the meat section, I think that the new stock boy must have cocked up and miss placed it.

I've told this story before but I made the schoolboy error of buying meat for a bbq on Australia Day. ig mistake. Only Roo Meat and some scabby looking steak left. Roo meat was cooked and tasted like a farmyard smells. Worst Australia Day ever. Got blastingly drunk though.

****n heathens, grow a beard and a pair of Balls. Roo meat is great, its one of the healthiest meats going, and yes it is "gamey" but so what, its had none of the antibodies people pump into and onto their cattle and sheep on a regular basis to prevent the kinds of diseases that flourish in herds.

Could you cook it really slow on low heat in a pot with some brown ale or stout, and a bit or boullion poured on it for flavor? We did that once with some game and it worked really well.

I would be surprised if 14.5% of the population had ever even tried roo meat.

Unless you are counting vermin and pets.

You'd probably be better off slow cooking it if it's so tough. Whip it in some chicken stock, carrots, celery etc etc.
