Barells are intermediates from US, Germany and UK, finished by Proarms.
Sorry, I don't know about exact companies involved here (I assume german Oberland Arms and british Imperial Defence Services, but I have no idea about US ones), even Proarms owner don't know it exactly - he take parts from distributors.

Looks quite different to me. There was picture of piston head in detail, unfortunately I can't find it now. It's probably deleted for some reason.
Of course there are some similarity (like between every piston system), but certanly not "extreme". I think it's actually more similar to HK416 than POF.

    makes sense thanks

Do you think that this rifle will go into direct competition with the CZ S805A to become the standard Czech Army rifle?
yes, it will be competitor for ČZ S805, what i know from "unofficial" sources it has real chance, because ČZUB is not willing to pay some cover "payola" actualy "sponsor's payment" .

Sorry, a little bit off-topic, but I wonder how do the gun laws work In Czech Republic? Is it possible to licence and own a semi-auto, or even a full-auto rifle such as this?

well, you cannot own full-auto rifle, it´s illegal, but semi-auto version of for example Vz.58 or Vz.61 yes, you can.

You can own even full-auto here, but only with special "forbidden weapon/equipment" permit which is very hard to obtain - usualy practically imposible, because only police officers decides if they give it to you or not. Also once you get that permit, they can check your firearms (only those permit related, not other ones) securing any time they want. And now, after one stupid gun-law "update", you cannot even shoot with them unless you have firearm bussiness license.
About other firearms - you must have firearms license and all firearms are registered. You must be at least 15 years old for competition license, 16 years for hunting license (both with parents/mentors agreement, if you are 18 it's on your own) and 21 years for self-defense (concealed carry), or profession license (work for security companies).
There is additional permit and charge for semi-auto rifles, but it's only beraucracy - they must give it to you, no matter they like it or not.
Silencers, gun-mounted laser devices and noctovisions, are forbidden. JHP ammunition is forbidden as well (well, it's slightly more complicated about this one).
No license or permit is needed for floberts, air, gas, mechanical and historical firearms (everything manufactured up to 1890), also one, or two-round muzzle loaders - you must be just 18 years old.

I can only wish CZUSA gets ahold of these for us across the pond.

Unfortunately CZ has nothing to do with those rifles (maybe there is chance for some kind of bussiness agreement between CZ and Proarms, but I doubt).

Main reason why Proarms making them is fact, that only HK make such system in europe, but they're expensive as hell and also don't make conversions, so - there is relatively big potential market. I don't think there is much benefit - except some prestige - in offering on US market, where are multiple similar systems and their numbers still growing.

Thanks for the Info likvid and rumcaj!!
I wonder, is there a lot of gun clubs in CR, where you can shoot a few rounds from a semi auto rifle, or can you set up a firing range on your property, ie a holiday house?? And by full auto, are you referring to assault rifles such as the vz-58 with full auto mode, or genuine machine guns?
    Thanks
    Tomas
P.S I'm a czech ex-pat living in australia, but i'd like to come back, especialy since here in oz you can't really purchase anything good, apart from handguns, and bolt action rifles...

Unfortunately you can shoot only on regular firing ranges (except self-defense of course - but you are still responsible for your bullets).
There are not much ranges - relatively high population density and too much beraucracy obstructions Also some good ranges has been closed, because some idiot built house near them, and then he complains to authorities about noise. It's like building house near airport and wondering that there is noise

By full-auto I mean all weapons which allows shooting more than one bullet on single trigger pull, regardles if it's pistol, submachinegun, rifle, machinegun or autocannon

They are most likely real, colored tips are used to mark ammunition type such as tracers, armor-piercing, incendiary, etc.....

Great pics, thank you for that.
Is it going to be released to the civilian market? And if yes: what is the ETA on the release of the rifle?
