A large portion of the fleet had to be sold due to CFE obligations and budget cuts.

the Leo2a6NL should stay in service until around 2020 (that is, if we get enough spare parts). after the purchase of the F35's (or something similar (joke)) the next big thing will be the replacement of all the major wheeled vehicles like the MB, 4-ton and 10-ton trucks. For the future they reserve money for a new MBT, but for now nobody has a clue on what it should look like. So far Leo2/Abrams are still top of the bill.
My suggestion: put composite armor, Leo2PSO, merkava4 in a blender and you should come up with something useful. And please keep the weight around 50 tonnes.

    Default Leopard 2A6HEL

Leopard 2A6HEL of Hellenic Army is without doubt on of the best tanks in the world today! The Leopard 2 Hel is a derivative (with greater armour protection) of the 2A6, ordered by the Greek Army in 2003. The "Hel" stands for "Hellenic". The 170 tanks are to be delivered between 2006 and 2009.

Also, after a failure in a catastrofic turret test, better protection around the gunner's sight

Would you really call that test catastrophic? They shelled the turret with some 60 (IIRC) AP rounds and one managed to penetrate through a weak spot connected with the gunners sight. I would like to know how many tanks can achieve similar results...
