Australian special forces are being investigated over a case of "alleged misconduct" during an operation in Afghanistan 10 days ago in which four insurgents were killed.

The Chief of the Defence Force, David Hurley, announced on Wednesday night that "an incident of potential misconduct" had been raised through the chain of command following a joint operation with Afghan forces in Zabul province on April 28...
