Youtube

    1. Go to the Youtube page you want. Cut and paste the URL from your browser exactly as it appears, like so:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVHLvtArC_g

    Ok, now:

Note the following, use the remove link button as follows: thats the world with a small paperclip underneath it. Cut and paste into word also works.

    http://www.youtube.com/[*******red]watch?v[*******red]=cVHLvtArC_g

Now, I have bolded and coloured red the bit, that you need to remove. It was hard to see the bold for the equals sign, so i made it larger.

Now, remove all the things that are in RED and put a forward slash after the 'v' - a forward slash is / for those who dont know.

    So you have the following:

    http://www.youtube.com/v/cVHLvtArC_g

Then add [embed] at the front. You need to put a forward slash in front of /embed at the end and close it with brackets.

If you are by chance lurking, thanks for posting this.

I'm not sure why but the above underlined/bolded was important for me. I've been posting my videos here for a while and over the last month (December) I haven't been able to for some reason. The two ways I used to use for embedding haven't worked (using FireFox). I tried Calanen's method but by "cutting and pasting" into Word, as I have in the past. It didn't work for some reason. I had to follow the method of putting the address inside the forum space, then using the "remove the link button" on the last part of the address to the video (as shown in his example). Then manually writing and bracketing the words "embed." Using the "Vid" button also wouldn't worked for me. However, now it works!

Anyhow, in case any of you were still having problems following Calanen's tutorial but were trying slight variations, try follow his directions .

    Pro tip:

How to embed videos from any website!

So, find the embed code from the website you saw the video, in this example I'm using Break .com.

    1. Copy and Paste it.
There's a bunch of code, but what you need is the bit I high-lighted:

    <object width="464" height="376"><param name="movie" value="http://embed.break.com/NjQ2NTQ3"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://embed.break.com/NjQ2NTQ3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess=always width="464" height="376"></embed></object><br><font size=1><a href="http://www.break.com/index/idiot-nearly-launched-by-missile.html">Idiot Nearly Launched by Missile</a> - Watch more <a href="http://www.break.com/">free videos</a></font>
    2. Copy this high-lighted bit.

    3. Paste inside [embed] [/embed] tags.

    And you're done! Profit!

    Pro tip 2:

You can embed any video as long as you copy the code within the <embed src=" url of video you want to embed" </embed>
