The SIG 556 Pistol is pretty cool.

The thing I can't get over about the SIG though is the charging handle being on the right side. I'm right handed and I don't like to have to swing my left hand over optics to reach it or pick my right hand off the pistol grip to use it.

If it wasn't for that personal pref thing I'd buy it.

Solid weapon though I found that I had to rotate my wrist slightly to press the magazine release.........I dont like that at all.

Ok I don't like the sounds of the magazine release, how big are your hands no offense, I got big hands so maybe it might not worry me. Does HK sell G36 to civilians and not that SL8 stuff.

I wear size large gloves, XL in some gloves............No G-36 to civilians in the US.

If you are looking for a gas piston rifle you might want to look at POF or LWRC.

I like the Sig 556. I have to slightly rotate my hand to release the mag but it's not to bad. I have always wanted a Sig 55X type rifle so I will be getting one.

i haven't heard anything about the 556 failing, i know first hand that the 552 beats itself up pretty hard. mainly cracked bolts and bolt carriers. i believe sig remedied this with the 553 but i haven't had any experience with a 553.

That was it, the 552. Sorry for that mixup, but still more for your cash out there.
